Dermot Healy was born in Finea,
County Westmeath, Ireland, in 1947. He has published three novels Fighting with Shadows, A Goat's Song, Sudden Times, and one collection of short stories Banished Misfortune. He is also a
playwright and a poet, publishing The
Ballyconnell Colours and What the Hammer, as well as the founding
editor of the innovative magazines The
Drumlin and Force 10.
His autobiography The Bend for Home was published in 1996. Dermot Healy lives in Ballyconnell near Sligo. |
